The usual 4 to race tonight so we ran a 4-man segmented race. Chris wasn't racing and did Race Control and a 1-man marshal team !!
Woody continues his good form of late to take a comfortable win by 8.73 laps from Nick in 2nd place. Kev and Geoff had a good tussle with Kev taking 3rd by 3.36 laps from Geoff. In handicap it was still Woody in top spot but Kev moved up into 2nd, some 4 1/2 laps down. Then it was Nick taking 3rd just 30 bits or so back and Geoff in 4th.

Again, with 4 to race we ran a 4-man segmeted final. Woody continues to dominate and was never troubled in taking the win by 10.59 laps from Nick in 2nd. Geoff had a good and consistent 4 segment run to take 3rd place but some 23 laps back from Nick. Kev had a very poor night with his car not performing at all and finished up plumb last, 3 laps behind Geoff.
RC data.
Another good night's racing considering only 4 of us, and we managed a tincture or 2 at the New Inn....

Mixed Club Cars
Again a bit different tonight. Just 3 of us early doors and while waiting for Chris we ran 6x2 man races with 2 drivers in each race so that we each got to run with the Minis on Yellow and Orange lanes and then 3 more race of 2 driivers with the 24th Club Cars on Blue and Purple lanes. This meant that we each got to run on all 4 lanes with all 4 to count. It was pretty close with both class of car and with the minis it was Geoff taking the first half with 71 laps to Nick with69 and Kev 68. With the 24ths it was Nick with the best 2 lane total of nearly 85 laps, then Kev 83 and Geoff 81. This meant that Nick ran out overall winner with 154.22 from Geoff 152.12 and Kev 151.95. Something a bit different and fun🤔
Open Class - 32nd Group 12 Saloon
Again with 3 drivers and Chris turning up to do Race Control we ran 3-man segmented race. This time Nick and Kev had a great race and it was neck and neck all the way but with Nick just that tiny bit quicker he ran out winner again by 2 1/2 laps or so from Kev. Geoff was a bit off the pace and was a further 8 laps or so back from Kev. Some fast, hard and enjoyable racing again.

Woody continues his good form of late to take the win, but only after a tight battle with Nick. Nick was just .76 laps behind at the finish. Kev was a further 7 1/2 back from Nick and Geoff seemed to be having trouble with his controller and was another 6.55 laps back.

Again, with 4 to race we ran a 4-man segmeted final. With Kev's car looking good again it was he who took an early lead from Woody and at half way he had a couple of laps lead. Woody did his best to catch but every time he got close an 'off' put paid to his progress and Kev was a relatively comfortable winner by just over a lap and posting a new overall fastest lap time on Purple lane of 3.706 secs. Nick was a bit off the pace tonight and was about a lap per segment down to finish 3rd behind Woody by 3.79 laps. Geoff had a bit of a mare, not getting his car round at all and was way off the pace finishing some 34 laps behind Nick and nearly 40 laps behind Kev. Not sure if his car or controller is playing up, or both but we need to get it sorted for him.

A bit different again tonight. With Woody in Prague for the Worlds warm up and Chris unavailable we had 4 drivers with a welcome appearance from Bob. This meant that we ran 2 x 2-man races, the first on Blue/Purple with the 2 minis, and the second on Orange/Yellow with the 24th saloons. All 4 lane runs counted to the total and this resulted in a win overall for Nick with a total of 155.42, about 4 laps ahead of Kev in second and Geoff beat Bob for 3rd spot by exactly 1 lap, Bob not getting the minis round very well !! This format worked pretty well and we all enjoyed the mixture of car classes, I think 🤔

Again with 4 drivers we ran the same format with 2 x 2-man races. This time Bob made up for his previous showing by being very slightly quicker than Nick and managed to beat him for the win by some 3+ laps. Geoff was surprisingly quick with a good car and with 1 segment to go he lead Kev for 3rd place by just over a lap. Sadly for him he was quickly running out of tyres and slowing enough for Kev to catch and pass him to steal 3rd place by a couple of laps. A good run though.... most enjoyable again.

Various Cars
A bit different tonight, Woody and Chris were 'indisposed' so there should have been 4 drivers. Unfortunately Geoff got held up at Glenfield Hospital and didn't make it but Bob made a welcome appearance and we ended up with 3 to race. This was awkward to set up so we did 3 separate races with 2 drivers in each, giving each of us 2 classes against each of the others 🤔 !!!!!
Club Cars
Kev and Nick contested the club cars tonight with Bob on race control. Nick was about a lap+ quicker over the 4 segments and ran out winner by 5.77 laps. The handicap, however worked out extremely close with Nick still winning but by only .33 of a lap. Handicaps seem to be working pretty well.

Open Class - 32nd Sports/GT
Kev sat this one out and Bob, with a Euro powered car, raced Nick with Falcon power. The difference in performance wasn't that great but Bob had the edge all the way by about a lap 1/2 per segment and ran out winner by just over 6 laps.
Club Class - 24th Club Saloons
Nick's turn to sit out and Bob raced Kev with Turboflex chassis cars powered by Euro motors(I think). They stuck with the same cars which seemed to be pretty well matched and it proved to be fairly close all the way. Going into the last segment Bob had a lap lead and at the end he had extended the lead very slightly to run out as winner by 1.70 laps.
Some really good and enjoyable racing again and we all went down the New Inn for some refreshment...

4 drivers again tonight with Chris doing Race Control. We ran a 4 man segmented race which saw Woody in good form to take the win by some 8 laps from Nick. Then Kev was a couple of laps or so behind Nick and then Geoff, not really on form tonight, a further 5+ laps back in 4th. Woody rubbed it in with a further win on handicap.

Back to usual tonight with Woody picking up from last week and showing his class to run in an easy winner. A good set of runs all in the 50s except Orange had him some 16 laps+ ahead of Nick who put in a PB 4 seg total. Kev started with woefully low tyres and paid the price, not being able to compete with Nick and only just managing to pip Geoff for 3rd place.

Some really good 1/32nd Formula 2 racing tonight. Kev was the form man tonight, having finally got his F2 car sorted. He got the better of Woody for a change and ran in winner by some 2 1/2 laps with Nick a further 5 laps or so back in 3rd.

Something a bit different tonight as it was the 5th week of the month. Nick had prepared 2 32nd scale Minis, basically 'Mack' chassis and bodies. With 4 of us to race but no Chris we ran 2 x 2 man segmented races, so everyone ran with each car on all lanes. The biggest challenge seemed to be setting up the controllers.
Unsurprisingly it was Nick that took the win as he'd he'd probably had much more practice than anyone else, but he'd spent alot of time setting up the cars, so no problem with that. Woody ran in 2nd some 3+ laps back then Kev and Geoff. Good fun for a change.
RC data.

Similarly Nick had prepared 2 24th sports cars with Turboflex chassis and motors out of the old club cars.
We ran a similar format to the minis and this time it was Woody who took the spoils but only beating Nick by 3 laps or so, and then it was Geoff beating Kev for 3rd by just 43 bits.
A good fun night and many thanks to Nick for his time preparing the cars to race. And he put new rubber onto our normal club cars, but we didn't have time to race them. Thanks Nick !

4 of us to race again tonight so we ran a 4-man segmented race as seems to be the norm at the moment. The problem with the RC interface and Blue lane seems to be fixed after a bit of fiddling with all the connections. Chris wasn't racing again and did Race Control and a 1-man marshal team !!

Again, with only 4 to race we ran a 4-man segmeted final.
The racing was hugely competitive, particularly between Nick and Kev. Nick's controller hand seems to be fixed after his op and is back on good form again. Woody is still the one to beat in most classes at the moment but the gaps are coming down. He won again tonight but only by 11 laps after Kev and Nick had a tremendous race all the way through. They were neck & neck at half way but Kev pulled out a 3 lap lead in seg 3. Nick nearly got this back in the last as Kev had a very scruffy last minute, but Kev held on to beat Nick by just 80 bits. Geoff is still getting better with more consistent runs but still was about 12 laps back for 4th place.
Some really fast and hugely enjoyable racing with a few PB's, particularly fastest lap times, and we managed to get some refreshment at the New Inn !

Only 3 to race tonight so we ran a 3-man segmented race. Chris wasn't racing and did Race Control and a 1-man marshal team !!
The track grip was a bit inconsistant and the club car tyres should probably had a good clean, resulting in laps down on the usual.
Woody is continuing his good form into the new year resulting in a win from Kev by some 10 laps and Nick a further 12 laps back.
Nick has some problems with his driving!! hand and is trying to drive left handed. He's not making too bad a job of it so far, just a bit inconsistent at times, but looking promising.

Again, with only 3 to race we ran a 3-man segmeted final. We freshened the grip up a bit with some goop and nearly wrote off Woody's car when it shorted out and set fire to a section - this has happened before on the straight where the braid is marginally high and shorts out easily. Luckily his car only melted a bit so was OK to race !!!
Once again it was Woody quickest early doors, but a serious lack of tyres meant that his race only lasted just into his 3rd segment, so finished up in last place with just 85 laps.
A close race then between Nick and Kev. Both were running Nick's cars as Kev stripped a gear and with no replacement Nick leant him his spare. Nick was once again driving left handed and was making a good job of it running Kev close by only 3 laps or so.
