Slot cars - a new return - update 14b: After the problems of practice I put the BL ES32 in the bin (metaphorically at least) and switched the R10 shell over to the JK32/SuperWasp and bolted on a set of Alpha Primos. Felt ok in practice so onto racing. We started by racing the 1/32 Mini club cars. Only my 2nd time with this class and a distinct improvement on the previous attempt. A high 38 on yellow and 39 on each of the other 3 lanes left me with a total of 156.80 with each segment being my record scores and my best laps. Amazingly it left me with a win from Chris by about a lap with Woody in 3rd.
On to 1/32 Sports. In 1 min qualy, Woody & Chris set best laps of 3.3 with Woody quickest by 2 hundredths. I managed to take 3rd on a 3.5 by a similar margin from Nick who was debuting his new BL Genesis (knocking a tenth of his previous best).
In the B final Nick took a comfortable win adding 4 laps to his PB. Geoff and Paul had a great battle for 2nd with Geoff taking the place with a cleaner run in the last segment.
Onto the A final and Woody led the first dozen or so laps but then Chris took over and stayed ahead for the rest of the race. I managed to match Woody's pace occasionally but overall I watched them both going away from me. My 12min time was a record and I set a PB on purple so can't complain too much. Good to see Paul back and looking even better than his first race night.
